During the Minor all-round design we had a subject called color and semantics. The subject was set up to learn us about: gender determents- and persona based products.



The assignment was to create a female perfume bottle design based on a scent. From this female perfume bottle a Male version had to be designed.



Based on a given perfume scent I produced a mind-map of inspiration words from which I picked three to design my female bottle: light basic and natural. For my designs I choose to use a basic shape and tried to change it slightly so it became a product and I choose for a seperation from left and right where one half is the cap of the parfume bottle and the other the container. By using wood and medium gloss white there is a contrast that is neutral so the shape determents the gender. Also the wood in the male bottle is darker and there for it looks stronger, with the sharp edge instead of the female organic flow.
